Fee pages that age badly inside application packs

Superseded fee schedules left in wealth management applications create awkward signing moments — and awkward audits.

Fee exhibits multiply. A wealth management application folder may contain last year’s schedule, a marked-up draft, and the “final” page the client is meant to sign. Without a consistency check, all three can travel to the signing room.

Signs of trouble

  • Two different custody minimums in the same PDF merge
  • A performance-fee appendix still attached after a move to flat advisory fees
  • Initials on a page that the cover letter says was withdrawn

During audit

We map each fee line to the mandate’s service description. If the mandate no longer mentions performance fees, a leftover appendix is a finding — even if nobody intends to charge them.

Small discipline

Keep a one-page fee index at the front of the pack listing the live exhibits only. Auditors and clients both thank you.
